Responsibilities include recruiting therapeutic foster homes through presentations, networking, relationship building, and collaboration with families, community partners, faith communities, and other stakeholders. Duties include working with families throughout the licensing/relicensing process, conducting home studies to assess safety, stable home environment, and fit for the child(ren), consult with clinicians and make recommendations for licensure to the state. Provide intake of children entering foster care. Provide education, supervision, and ongoing support to the therapeutic foster home parents to ensure the continuing understanding and compliance with the level of support required for a therapeutic environment. Respond to crisis situations, connect parents to related supportive services, and complete monthly paperwork related to placement documentation, billing, and reports. Develop and maintain working relationships and communication with partners, referral sources, faith communities, county departments, and other community organizations/stakeholders to recruit homes, garner referrals, and promote the program.
