Summary
Experience
Fastenal is a global distributor of industrial supplies. The Onsite program within Fastenal, offers in-plant, supply chain management resources to customers with a minimum spend of $1 million annually. Each customer has a team of local Fastenal employees to manage portions of the customers' industrial supply chain needs. These local employees were supported by myself and my Onsite Development team.
As an Onsite Development Manager for Fastenal, I managed 12 employees based in the Western half of the US. My job was to lead and assist this team with their tasks to strengthen sales relationships with our largest OEM manufacturing customers. In addition, our team was also charged with internal improvements across the business unit. This included profit improvement, asset management, operational efficiencies, and employee development. Our expectations were to create best in practice SOPs / SOWs to maximize profit growth for each Onsite business unit.
Our work was very strategic as we analyzed the full scope of each business unit, planned short- and long-term solutions, and directed resources to execute necessary actions to meet our goals. Working directly with key stakeholders in both Fastenal and customer management teams was critical to our success.
