Keeps exterior and interior buildings and grounds and any equipment or machines are clean and in working order. Assist to ensure the correct and efficient management of events is provided in public and/or corporate settings.
Position Title: Maintenance and Event Worker
Reports to: Maintenance and Event Supervisor
Status: Non-exempt, Part Time, 20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $15/hour
Position Summary:
Ensures that internal and external rental client&rsquos needs are met through the delivery and set-up of furnishings, technology, audiovisual and beverage requests. . Ensures a clean and safe environment for all participants, rental guests, volunteers and staff. Ensures the optimal operation of the facility through regular maintenance and cleaning of all the various aspects of the Wellstone Center Campus.

  • Ensure excellent customer service for all Wellstone Center visitors through seamless delivery of event support services including audio visual, room set-up, technology support and beverage service.
  • Ensures that common, leased, dedicated and event spaces are cleaned and maintained for optimal facility operation
  • Ensure a welcoming atmosphere is projected through prompt and courteous service.
  • Operates equipment and uses cleaning products in compliance with all safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Ensure the success of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation programming at the Wellstone Center through maintaining and cleaning and maintaining dedicated fitness, gymnasium and locker room spaces.
  • Promote facility security through monitoring activity and timely communication with other maintenance, guest service and parks team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds
  • Cleaning or janitorial experience preferred
  • Computer experience and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Karen or African languages preferred.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • High School or GED equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
