When offered a job which offers less than your current unemployment do you believe it is better to stay unemployed?
When people talk about the long term unemployed worker it seems at times they are referring what might be seen as an opportunist. Is it better to take a job outside of your experience realm making less than you currently draw in unemployment? The only way to really look at this question is to use the living by percentages workbook. You need to calculate if you can live on what the offered job pays before leaving your unemployed status. Depending on the state you most likely will do better by accepting the job then refusing it. We will be posting comments about what others are saying in the coming weeks. This issue of extending unemployment benefits needs to be addressed by those actively seeking employment daily.
