Q: Adding work experience. __ How do I enter my resume?

We do not want you to enter your resume in a single post. Our system uses Work Experience based on Industry and Type of work. Your resume may have more than one industries worth of work experience. We want you to enter separate work experience posts for each industry you worked in. If you have overlapping industries enter your work experience in all categories that your experience matches. Do not over post! The Reason for Work Experience Posts and Industry Experience Posting. Employers spend hours reading over resumes looking for experience that matches their needs. We cut out the long resume lists and have job seekers post experience related to industry. This method is very effective for both job seekers and employers. Browsing categories reading summaries takes minutes compared to reading resumes. Employers can download your resume from your work experience pages if you have uploaded a resume.

Q: Basic Login Issues. __ Why is my Login not working?

Check to be sure you are entering your full email address which you used to sign up with.

Username is your email address.

If this is your first time attempting to login be sure you copy and paste the temporary password from your email. 

Periods and special characters are sometimes included.

Passwords are Case Sensitive and can contain special characters.

We use 128Bit one way plus hash encryption so no password can be viewed they can only be reset.

Q: Blank Profile page. __ I click on My Account after logging in and get nothing but a blank screen.

This isn't an error it is either we are updating the profile page or your selected member type isn't setup completely by our developers in the My Account profile page.

The My Account page changes depending on the Members sign up information. At times we will take it down for testing.

But, you should still find all the links to work in the left column. This issue of a blank screen only happens during updates.

Q: Category Searching. __ I am looking for machinist or toolmaker positions. Can you please tell me what category I need to look under? Thank you! Select the closest match to your industry. Be sure to also search categories that have similar industry jobs or requirements.

Q: Email Resume. __ How may I email my resume? You may email your resume to any employer that lists an email address and asks in their post to have job seekers email resumes. If no contact information is listed you must log in and contact them via our internal messaging system. You can attach your resume link to your message so employers can download your uploaded resume. You will see in your profile when they have read your message. You then should wait for the employer to contact you. Follow up with them in about a week after you have seen they have read your message.

Q: Employer login? __ Where is the employer login?

Our site only uses one login.

The system will know who you are.

Be sure not to confuse us with sites that have different login locations for different members.

 

Q: Job Posting. __ How do I post jobs?

Create your membership by selecting Job Poster (Employer).

When you login click on the link "My Account" to view your profile page.

Look toward the middle for a button to post jobs. You'll see Add New Job Posting, Edit Job Postings, Delete Job Postings.

Q: Login Names. __ I had an account on the old site but I am unable to find my old account, as it was a login ID not an email address.

We have had many people ask us about Login ID's and Usernames.

Be sure you are at the correct website. MnWorks established in 1996 and registered has always used email addresses as login names for main site features.

You might be looking for a local DES office which most outsourced DES offices use ID numbers and not email addresses.

Q: Login Username / Name. ... __ What is my Login name?

Your login name or username is the email address you used during registration.

Q: Manual Password Reset. __ My password was reset but it is not working.. I am unable to get into the website www.mnworks.net and www.mnworks.jobs . Can you please reset my password to ; XYZ123

If you have received a new temporary password and still can not login try the following.

• Use your email address as your login username
• Copy and Paste the temporary password from your email.
• Passwords come with special characters including periods.
• All passwords are Case sensitive.

We can reset passwords manually but it's the same if you do it yourself and that would be allot faster.

Our temporary passwords are randomly generated and stored for your first login. We can not see your password and the stored version is encrypted without a reveral key or unlock key. That means it would take about 4,000 years to crack your password when our system created it.

Try again with a password reset and use the email address for your username.

Q: No Email Password __ I checked email and found no email with that subject line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please check your spam or junk mail folders. You can also check to make sure you have actually registered with us by using the password reset function. If it finds your email the script will reset and email you again. If the password reset doesn't find your email address it will display no email found.

Q: Password Info. __ How do I change my password?

You must login to change your password.

Visit your My Account page and scroll down the page until you find "Change Password".

Enter your old password or current password then enter your new password.

If all goes correctly you will see "Logout and Login again".

Q: Password Reset __ How do I reset my own password?

You can reset your own password from the login page.

Click on the Login link.

Look below the user name and password fields.

You will need to enter your email address in the first line.

Ignore the Cellular Email if you have not setup to have SMS sent to your cellular telephone.

Enter your email then enter the captcha numbers and click on Password Reset.

Your new temporary password will be emailed to the email address on file.

Q: Resume uploading, posting. __ I want to create a new resume. How do I do that on this site?

You need to login and click on the My Account link.

You will see Upload Documents and Files.

After you upload your resume you'll need to create at least one work experience post to have your resume link visible by hiring employers.

Q: Spam Filters usfamily.net __ I registered but didn't get an email with a temporary password. Can you send another to @usfamily.net?

If you registered and didn't get an email within a few minutes most likely your email server has spam filters or your ISP has spam and ham filters.

Typically emails take less than 5 seconds to reach most networks.

If you have waited 5 or more minutes make sure the email wasn't blocked by spam filters or directed to your spam filters.

ISP also offer Spam Filtering by Email Confirmation.

USFamily.net uses this system and we can not reply and confirm our email address to your private system. It is up to you to allow the @mnworks.net or @mnworks.jobs email to reach you.

A quick review of your email account should show "Waiting for approval" with a method to manually bypass the remote approval.

The reason we are posting the USFamily.net address as our example is we have some sign-up just fine while others send us email after email asking why they didn't get a password. We do feel bad but really can't spend the time confirming our email with your ISP. You can manually add our domains mnworks.net and mnworks.jobs .

Q: View Job Post __ I have posted a job but can not view it, why?

All posts are reviewed by one of our mentors before allowing public view. This keeps spam posts and unwanted or misleading posts out of our job listings.

Q: View or edit resume? __ Where can I view or edit my resume? You can edit your resume using Microsoft Word or any document editor. Upload your newest resume and remove or delete your old resumes from online. Be sure to add your resume work experience in our Add Work Experience section. This allows employers to find you and your uploaded resume.
